Structural Design Engineer

Job Summary

A Structural Design Engineer is responsible for planning, analyzing, and designing structural systems for buildings and infrastructure to ensure safety, stability, and compliance with Indian Standards and local regulations.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Design RCC, steel, and composite structures (residential, commercial, industrial)
• Perform structural analysis using software like ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro
• Prepare structural drawings, BOQs, and design calculations
• Ensure designs comply with IS codes and local authority norms
• Coordinate with architects, site engineers, and contractors
• Review shop drawings and provide technical support during construction
• Conduct site visits and resolve structural issues
• Optimize designs for safety, cost, and constructability

🎓 Qualifications

• B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• M.E / M.Tech (Structural Engineering) – preferred
• Strong knowledge of RCC & steel design

💻 Required Skills

• Structural analysis & design
• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• ETABS / SAFE / STAAD Pro
• Understanding of IS codes (IS 456, IS 800, IS 875, IS 1893)
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication & coordination abilities

👷 Experience

• 0–2 years: Junior / Graduate Structural Engineer
• 3–6 years: Structural Design Engineer
• 7+ years: Senior / Lead Structural Engineer

💰 Salary (Indicative – Thane/Mumbai)

• Freshers: ₹20,000 – ₹30,000 per month
• 2–5 years: ₹40,000 – ₹80,000 per month
• Senior level: ₹1 Lakh+ per month (project-based)
